Why do you want it quiet first of all? And which car are you rolling in and what engine? There really isn't any way you can quiet them down alot.

Well that answers what kind of enigne, but we can't really help you on the "quiet" it down question because unfortunatly, there really isn't any way. Sorry man, if you do find a way tell it to us.

Well, i suppsoe you COULD use a muffler designed for an rc aircraft engine. Towerhobbies sell them, but it was ages sicne i flown anythgin so i'm not sure what they have now. www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX8680&P=ML Hers an example, but it's for a 50 or 46. thers a company that selles silencer pipes for aircraft, but the difference is that planes are longer than trucks. In a plane thers up to 1m and more between the engine and the tail. You can get quiet exhaust systems but they may be too big for trucks. The problem is the more you quiten it the more power it loses. It's top end is really gonna suck.

I don't think it would be good to put an aircraft engine muffler on the .26 on a car, since it could get messed up because aircraft engines dont take much stress so their mufflers may be designed to make the best of that. Maybe you could make some sort of suppressor like the silencer of a gun.
You could also convert it to brushless. ;D

I say you just tell your neighbors to deal with it. No but really I dont think there is a way to make one quiet. Theyre bad machines and they want to scream it. Ill see if there are any rc car muffs.

you could get the HPI stock savage pipe with the silencer. the one off the savage x. it doesnt make a big difference bu im sure it will be quieter then a tuned pipe. do you live in a planned community? i couldnt survive in one of those

rc aircraft mufflers are effective. thats why i suggested it. I'm not aware of any mufflers made for cars that actually work. Usually stock mufflers arnt really mufflers, but tuned pipes that are too cheap to have a proper resonant cavity. Of course they muffle it abit, but not enough to be usefull in your situation i dont think.
If i was you i'd tell your neighbours to stick it to be honest. An rc truck cant make THAT much noise. A lawnmorer or even a loud vacuum cleaner is louder. Peopel cut their lawns and clean their floors all the time.

You might try the OS 2050 or 2060 pipe. They are a three chamber pipe, and a lot quieter than a standard pipe. Spendy though.
The problem is that now your neighbors are hypersensitive to ANY noise that your truck makes. You may be shoveling stuff uphill. Maybe a little negotiation is in order??

some racing organizations have specific noise limits for nitro vehicles, I'm fairly sure that if you found a FEMCA certified pipe, it would be quieter and at least as powerful. are you sure it is the noise, or are they jealous that you can out run their full size cars?

That's really stupid. Mowing the lawn and vacuuming are necessary things and I can understand them not getting mad about it but it's just as loud so if that doesn't bother them then a nitro engine shouldn't. If you live in a gated community or whatever with rules, then just stick to 'em and if they complain, they still can't stop you.
