This started life as an RTR Electric Stampede. Still is but it ain't your father's Stampede. 8 shocks and 2 1/4" extended chassis. Lots of other hop-ups installed and modifications. No body yet. Stock one no longer fits. This truck will take a 14 foot fall off a jump and not bat an eyelash. I built it to jump and bash around the backyard.

Adding more shocks doesn't really do much. I could tweak the shocks on any of my cars to do anything, it's just in the way you set it up.

Thanks.
The extention was made with 3/8" aluminum c-channel bolted together. Then I cut the original chassis and bolted the aluminum "brick" into the orginal battery tub.
As far has the shocks go. I don't really care if it "doesn't really do much". As far as I know I am the only one with an 8 shock E-Pede and that has a coolness factor all it's own. And if it doesn't really do much, why does Traxxas amoung others use 8 shocks on their nitro MT's. Why not just 4 like the electrics. Anyway, it doesn't matter really. I like it and it works for me.
For a body I have selected two. Just a matter of getting them ordered. One is the Streamliner for MAXX MT's from Pro-Line. The other is the El Camino SS from HPI.

Go with the el camino. i have a feeling the streamliner will be a tid too big for that. Even knowing it's a HUGE beast!

About the ESC, i'd get a novak super rooster. They're one of the best esc's out there for a decent price. Or better yet, an XL10.

I had an XL-10 a few days ago brand new and had planned on putting it in but I got a lot of bad feedback about it so I took it back to the LHS and didn't get another ESC at that time.....then I cooked my XL-1 yesterday...Dammit. Onliest Supers I can find are on E-bay. I don't have that kind of patience. Duratrax ESC's are readily available in my area though. Along with a few of the newer Novaks. I would really be unterested in a Dual motor ESC because of my contemplation of going 4WD.

Bought some new goodies yesterday.
Duratrax Intellispeed 12T. Wanted the 8T but they sold the last one 20 minutes before I got there.
Assortment of Losi pinion gears
81,84,87,90T Kimbrough spur gears
Team Orion Method R SV2 BB 13x2, 17x2,
MIP CVD's
Lunsford turnbuckles to replace Traxxas turnbuckles for steering linkage and Camber links
Traxxas T-MAXX rims (ordered the conversion hubs from RC-Monster couple days ago)

I couldn't find a particular place to post this and I hate hi-jacking someone else's forums but I have been putting this together for a couple days and encourage you all to visit. modifiedrc.free-forums.org
