Airpressure’s break-in method: This is mainly for the small block engines, but works with others just as well.
st tank: this is mainly a very VERY boring tank. You need to let it idle the whole time just about. Tap the gas about 10% every now and then. Your idle will most likely increase as the run goes on (since the piston and sleeve are loosing friction as it runs. If the vehicle starts too creep forward, don’t be alarmed its normal just steer it in the right direction.) Run this tank until it is completely consumed by the engine.
nd tank: Try to let it idle half of the time and give it about 20% throttle half of the time. Let have about 2 second bursts of throttle (20% at max.) and then let it idle for 5 seconds. Do this untill the whole tank is consumed entirely.
rd tank: Give the engine about 50% throttle for about 2 seconds then let it idle for about 5 seconds. Do this until the entire tank is consumed.
th tank: 75% throttle for about 1 second then let it idle for about 7 seconds. Do this until the entire tank is consumed.
th tank: 75% throttle for about 4 seconds then let it idle for about 5 seconds. Do this until the entire tank is consumed.
th tank: accelerate to 100% throttle over a 4 second count then hole it there for 1 second then let it idle for about 5 seconds. Do this until the entire tank is consumed.
th tank: 100% throttle for 2 seconds then to idle for 2 seconds. Do this until the entire tank is consumed.
th tank: 100% throttle for a 4 second count then drop to 25% throttle for 1 second then drop to idle for 4 seconds. Do this until the entire tank is consumed. You are now done with break-in!
Don’t be alarmed by stalling, cutting out, sputtering, bogging, etc. it is just normal break-in pains.
